Guildhall Yard was flipping fantastic at the annual Inter-livery Pancake Races held last week on Tuesday 17th April 2026.
The event was hosted by the Worshipful Company of Poulters, led by their Master, Mr Paul Kelly. Other Companies provided relevant support. We, at the Worshipful Company of Cooks, brought along the chefs’ hats; the Worshipful Company of Glovers supplied the gloves; the Worshipful Company of Gun Makers ensured no-one missed the start of their race; the Worshipful Company of Clock Makers were in charge of accurate time keeping throughout the day; the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers provided the all-important lemons, so we could enjoy the delicious pancakes cooked and served by The Clinks Events team.
The yard at Guildhall was filled with runners and supporters in the full spirit of Livery fellowship – and maybe a hint of friendly rivalry.
Once again the imaginative costumes of those in the Novelty Race brought a smile to everyone’s face, with the focus on something relating to The Lord Mayor’s Appeal charities. Fabulous costume by Elise Rasmussen, Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Tobacco and Pipe Makers who was chosen as the winner.
A fun day under surprisingly blue skies!
